Pathways to Participation with Donelle Dewar OT

This is a 4-hour session plus a half hour lunch break. This allows time to network with other professionals in the community which people always find incredibly useful.

The outcomes for the workshop are:

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

Understand why individuals who appear “ready” on paper may still struggle in real world work environments.

Recognise the hidden cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors that influence sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

Develop confidence in identifying and addressing invisible barriers such as sensory overload, fluctuating capacity, and identity shifts.

Apply practical frameworks to plan supportive, person centred return to work transitions.

Strengthen their ability to collaborate with clients, employers, and teams to create environments that promote recovery, dignity, and long term participation.

Approach

This interactive workshop will be delivered using evidence-based occupational therapy, psychology and neuroscience principles, from a neuro affirming and strengths based perspective.

With background experience in corporate roles including HR and Health & Safety, Donelle offers insight into both the clinical and organisational perspectives on managing health and wellness in professional and institutional settings.

We are waiting for confirmation from Hamilton Gardens to hold this in the Pavilion as it is an easy to access venue with ample parking, catering and the venue is comfortable and fit for purpose. We are pencilled in and awaiting the coordinator to return to work to confirm.

We plan this being a 10am start with a 2:30 finish

We have managed to get funding from Ace Aotearoa to subsidise the cost so it will only cost $65 per person (early bird price) to attend if paid by July (this includes lunch/tea and coffee) .

After 4th July the cost will be $80.

Seats are limited so once it is full we will not be taking more bookings for this workshop.
